Session differences btw time vs vol-tick-range charts ?

Postby tekram » 17 Oct 2009

What is preventing Oct 12, Columbus day data from showing up on this range (or tick, or vol) chart?

MC version Version 5.5 Beta 5 (Build 2643)

Using the default sessions for both identical symbol @ESZ09 from CME data from TS, there seems to be a difference of the time chart versus a volume (or tick or range) charts. This happened on Monday, Columbus day when CME Globex was trading. Changing to different types of sessions do not seem to make a difference.

Consequently, there are some data missing in the range chart (lower pane), and the high for 10/12/09, Columbus day, which had normal trading hours.

MC version 3.1 doesn't have these types of session support so it will show the correct data on range chart.

Also tried deleting cache for the symbol, exiting QuoteManager, waited until tsServer quit and restart QM. Reload data from TS and same result.

Had to search for this in another forum and found out that this is apparently not supported, perhaps will be supported in MC 6.0

Just to be clear MultiCharts does support sessions. You can configure any sessions you like. MultiCharts 5.5 Beta (coming this month) will allow you to set different sessions for the same symbol on different charts.
We will add holidays in MultiCharts 6.0 to address this omission.
