I was doing some data mangement chores and noticed that many of my CBOT symbols such as soybean oil July futures, SMN10, had the exchange 'CME'. I'm not sure how that happened.
I found that I could look up and insert the SMN10 symbol with the CBOT exchange.
How is it that the data was available via both?
Are there differences?
CME has bought the CBOT and perhaps that is why you can see it under CME (Globex)?
Or is it that the exchange doesn't really matter when requesting a symbol (with TS)?
Now of course I have data for some symbols under both exchanges.
What should one do about that?
When I looked further, I found some symbols with exchanges of 'UNDEF'.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Now, of course, I have copies of data for symbols under both exchange names!
How does one deal with that efficiently?
