QuoteManager: Mirus Futures Demo Account

Postby duration » 04 May 2010

Hello,

I have opened a demo account with Mirus Futures.

I spoke to them on the phone and they said they are powered by Zen Fire and that it would work with MC, and that I just had to put my username and password in the QuoteManager Data Sources plugin settings.

First I cannot find any ticker or symbol for futures: I don't know what is the exact symbol I should input for the 6B when I create a symbol. Would you know where I could find their tickers?

Second, when I create a 6B symbol (I input 6BM0 as a symbol name just to try), it says that there is no data/network service when I try to connect... Is there any additional software I should download?

Many thanks,

Hi TJ,

Actually I did a search before posting :) but I could not figured out how to properly setup 6BM0 (June-10), and how to get the data feed to work from the previous posts..

you should NEVER input a symbol...
always insert symbol from data source using Look Up in QM.

do you know the root for your symbol?

Mirus Futures sent me a tutorial.

This is exactly what I did (I used ESM0 instead) but nothing works.

The tutorial is attached if it can help anyone.

Thanks TJ, but I had seen that one when I searched for answers. It seems nothing will connect no matter what instrument I put in there..

duration,

Here is Zen Fire Symbology:
http://forums.zen-fire.com/wiki/Symbology

I've also attached an example for the ES using QuoteManager.

Hi Duration,
Both of the symbols you have tried to plot (ESM0 and 6BM0) should work.
You need to open QuoteManager, go to Instrument (symbol)->Add symbol->Manually. In the appeared window there are 4 fields. In the first one select ZenFire, in the second type in ESM0 or 6BM0. Please note, 0 in ESM0 or 6BM0 stands for 2010 so make sure you type zero not a letter O. Then, in the category field select Futures, and CME as an exchange in the last one. Click Ok. In the Edit Symbol window that will pop up right after you add the symbol you can leave all of the settings as is and hit ok.
I wanted to go over the settings once again, just in case.
Try to plot the chart using ESM0 or 6BM0 and if you see no data again please go to QuoteManager and post the messages from the EventLog here.
Thank you

Dear CTRLBRK & Anastassia,

Thank you for your kind support.

I did exactly what you said, but I still don't get any data, it says "off" on QuoteManager and "no data" on the charts.

I have attached the log from QuoteManager.

Many thanks,

Duration,
As i can see from the Event Log (which is located below the symbol list) you selected GLOBEX as an exchange for those 2 symbols and the one that you need to use is CME. "No security definition has been found" message means there is no such symbol that is why you have no data. So please change GLOBEX to CME and try to plot a chart again. You should be able to receive data.
Thank you

Check your Zen Fire credentials in the QuoteManager - Tools - Data Sources - Zen Fire - Settings. Also you need to post the Settings tab of the ESM0 instrument too.

Note to MC: With IQFeed you report "Login OK" to the console after a successful login. Nothing like that is reported with Zen Fire it seems, and it should be.
