Is MC 6.0 incompatible with OwnData 2.5 2.6 2.7 on 1 PC?

Postby GSATrader » 06 May 2010

Hi, is there any special install method to prevent MC 6.0 to mess up OwnData for TS?

If both installed on the same machine none of them work giving error "Datafeed could not be loaded".

Is there any special instruction how ti install both, any special order, to make them work toguether?

Regards
GSA

Hello GSATrader
MC 6.0 is compatible with OwnData 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7 on 1 computer and there is no special installation required. Please visit our live chat so one of the programmers can help you.
Thank you

Unfortunatly it just dont work.

QuoteManagers interfear with eachother and not only MC and OwnData wont work toguether, if you install MC over a computer with OwnData it will corrupt all your install. You will need to reinstall OwnData again. Which therefore make MC unusable. So is a loop of reinstalls!

Also is interesting because once MC is installed, if you run QuoteManager it will get data and symbols from Owndata QuoteManager, so they are sharing the database.

So unless there is a special way to install both, they are incompatible toguether. I tried all combinations MC first, Owndata After. Owndata first, MC after... Same result.

Is there any special way to do it?

Hi GSATrader,

As I have mentioned previously there is no special way to install MultiCharts and OwnData to the same machine. Both should work just fine together. If you could visit our live chat to demonstrate us the issue we would really appreciate it. Our office hours are from 6:30 am to 2 pm EST. Please find the link below to access the chat:

Thank you in advance
