How to determine discretionary versus fully automated count.

Postby bowlesj3 » 26 May 2010

Not directly related to MC but I am sure this discussion would be of great interest to TSS. For me it is just curiosity.

How would one determine these counts.
A/ Number of fully automated traders.
B/ Number of discretionary traders (ones with rules).
C/ Number trying to go from B to A.
D/ Number not attempting to go from B to A (never will try).

Maybe there is no way to know for sure but maybe there is a way to get an estimate.

How to determine discretionary versus fully automated count.
One way is to make a poll.
The results collected may be commercially valuable/sensitive to TS Support and (or) competitors.
Confidential poll is a solution, but then John will never satisfy his curiosity  unless a non-disclosure agreement is signed :)

LOL, yes, I agree. I guess I should do the poll and sell the info.

Although I may never have the answer to the questions above, curiousity is good because (thanks to Tresor's comment) I now know what "Oracle" means (I went to the "Oracle Google" to get the answer). :D
