is the IB Gateway ( http://www.interactivebrokers.com/php/a ... ateway.htm ) officially supported by MultiCharts 6 for automated trading?

Do I need to create a new data source for the IB Gateway or just change the port to 4001? How do I, or do I need to, permission the gateway for MC? Or is it a given that anything can connect as it's a gateway?

TIA

Dear momentum,

Please try to change port settings. There are no new data sources for IB.

I changed the port in the Data provider setting for IB and I am getting the attached error. It seems to be looking for permission enablement in the TWS but I'm running gateway not TWS. Looking into the IB Gateway, it shows I API connection however, trying to enable a strategy in an MC chart brings the error that I cannot connect to TWS so the strategy does not run

Dear momentum,

It works fine on our end. Please see the attached screenshot. Do you have the same settings?

Hello Momentum

Don't know if you have resolve your problem about IB GateWay

I had a similar interogation and after a chat with IB the solution was toSelect IB API in the login settings..
The FIX CTCI is for another kind of users.

Once you select IB API, only your user name and regular password will be ask.

Thanks Martin. Resolved. My issue was that the port number kept resetting and I caused the gateway and MC to be out of sync.
