MultiCharts and eSignal OnDemand

Postby Laurent » 06 Dec 2010

Yesterday I have posted a message... I was trying to make MC works with eSignal LiveCharts.
In fact it is not possible, MC needs to have the eSignal Data Manager installed.
I'm okay with that!

So today, I have suscribed to the last eSignal On Demand Offer and I have tried it with MultiCharts. (I have followed the instructions on the support videos to not make mistakes..)

And there is a big problem, it does not work.
MC launches the eSignal Data Manager, but the eSignal Data Manager becomes red in a few seconds (Reception NODATA / Password NONE).

I have tested eSignal On Demand without MC and it works, there is not a such deconnection.
So I have take the logs of MultiCharts.

Please help me, I'm on Windows seven and have the last version of Multicharts and the last version of eSignal On Demand :'(

eSignal OnDemand service has certain restrictions:
* Not available for use with third party software applications
* Does not support DDE or QLink

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Did not see that.... FAIL :'(

I'm waiting for an answer of the MultiCharts team (are you in the MC team SP?), because maybe that's not the issue! There is a winsock error at the end of the log.

And I wonder how they would detect that MC I use and not me =)

the restriction with eSignal OnDemand is specifically stated in eSignal's term of service.

I presume, I have just seen...
"Compatibility with some 3rd party software" on the main page :'(

Well maybe I was blind with the difference of cost between eSignal Premier / eSignal On Demand ...

Btw, I do not want to suscribe to eSignal premier, if it's a problem of connection of MC and not a problem of eSignal, that why I would be sure ^^

Thanks to Dave for his help!

It seems eSignal On Demand cannot be used !
I'm going to use eSignal (Premier) feed, and I will tell you :)

So As I said, eSignal On Demand cannot be used with MC.

MC can be used with eSignal Premier or with eSignal Data Access!
