how will trading platforms work in the near future?

Postby arnie » 02 Jun 2011

Just saw the first Windows 8 presentation:

How will trading platforms work with touch interfaces?
Will it be more user friendly?

Supposedly a financial application of the future http://www.pfinance.com/ made by a start-up supposedly worth ca. $1 billion.

Very impressive. Palantir Technologies may be new, but few, if any, can match Thomson Reuter’s ancestry.

However, the question remains, what is most important:

state of the art trading technology;
superb analytics;
or money management?

Without a doubt, money management is the Holy Grail.

Therefore, I am happy with MultiCharts; I will be happier if MultiCharts trading system analysis is given greater thought and attention.

I am not happy yet, but I will be on the day the official ver 7.0 is released (bugless). When it is done I will consider MC a useful and complete trading platform. MC team will find it hard to add anything comparable to the magnitude of already implemented components (e.g. manual trading or walk forward testing).
I will be happier if MultiCharts trading system analysis is given greater thought and attention.
What do you mean by ''trading system analysis''?

I think how back-tests and optimizations are reported (particularly) needs greater sophistication.

But this should be the subject of a separate thread.

FXALL has just been floated on NYSE. There may be some interesting data for MC team (e.g. software related CAPEX) revealed in the prospectus.

http://investors.fxall.com/phoenix.zhtm ... ectgroup=0 look for ''Form of prospectus disclosing information facts events covered in both forms 424B1 424B3'' of 02/10/12

To my dissappointment very little mechanics of the FX market was uncovered.
