currently use a PC with Intel E8400 with 3 gb ram sata HD.
I backtest with tick by tick data, data1, trade, data2 and data3 ask and bid, considering periods of 30 days gives me the message out of memory.
Now consider what 'as the recommended configuration for a type of analysis like that?
PC with 64-bit operating system and at least 8 gb?
PC with 32-bit system but better Intel processor and 3 gb ram?
PC with SSD, 64-bit OS and at least 8 gb?
Do you have suggestions without spending as much money as the price / benefit from your analysis?
thanks

MultiCharts is a 32 bit program, it can only address 2 GB of memory.currently use a PC with Intel E8400 with 3 gb ram sata HD.

MultiCharts will give a warning message when the memory usage reaches 75%.
You can delay the warning message.

It would be interesting to have a 'rule of thumb' for calculating memory requirements? I guess its a question of (2gig - executable requirements) divided by (how many bits a 'tick' requires to represent it + storage for study plots). Something along those lines.
It does seem 30days * 3 plots is rather low?
