I have the following computer spec
Windows 7, 8GB RAM, 64Bit, Quad , i5 CPU
I am running alot of workspaces and a lot of historical data and sometime I am getting a message that MC is running out of memory - to reduce the number of bars....
Am thinking of getting more memory - will this fix the issue i.e can MC address more memory - is there a limitation with MC?
Thanks

MultiCharts is a 32 bit application.I have the following computer spec

As such, it can only address 2 GB of memory per process.
You can try starting additional MultiCharts instances,
and spread the wsp among the instances.
It might alleviate the memory problem.
One user reports he is tracking 150 charts without running out of memory.

MultiCharts give a warning when the memory usage is at the 75% level.
This warning can be modified.

Re: Computer Spec - Max Memory that MC7 can address
am running 32 workspaces/charts with 10years of historical Daily data - Daily Strategy
4 workspaces with Data 1 60min and Data 2 Daily over 10years - Hourly Strategy
does this sound like a lot of data ?
How many instances of MC can I start? is 2GB allocated to each version?

MultiCharts should be able to handle it.am running 32 workspaces/charts with 10years of historical Daily data - Daily Strategy
4 workspaces with Data 1 60min and Data 2 Daily over 10years - Hourly Strategy
does this sound like a lot of data ?
daily charts do not take up a lot of spaces. (250 X 10 = 2,500 bars)
Yes, each instance can access 2 GB.How many instances of MC can I start? is 2GB allocated to each version?
How many monitors do you have?
Joking aside,
you can try opening one MultiCharts per workspace and see if it helps.
Open the TaskManager while you are doing this,
you can monitor how the memory usage changes with each additional workspace.

I'm also using MC 7.0 on Windows 7 Home Premium, but it's there. Try searching for "MemoryMonitor" in the Registor-Editor (Ctrl - F).In regedit I can not find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TS Support\MultiCharts\MemoryMonitor"
I am using MC 7.0
