RENKO chart - Problems with volume indicators

Postby CrazyNasdaq » 01 Sep 2011

I've some problems with renko charts which seem to use Volume in a bad way.
I've plotted my Cumulative Delta Volume indicator on Renko charts and it seems to be very different from Point bar or Contract bar.
If Renko charts are built on ticks, volume and specifically Delta Volume would not be affected by chart resolution because Delta Volume is built on Volume of each tick. So how can be Delta Volume so different ?
Here is a screenshot on future 6EU1.

Hello, CrazyNasdaq.
For Renko charts Up or Down volume is equal to the amount of ticks used to form the brick.
If one tick is used to form multiple bricks, then the volume is filled for the last brick.
All ticks received after the current brick would be added to the next new brick.

Thanks Henry,
but this way we miss important informations regards up or Down Volume.
If Up volume + Down Volume is equal to Total ticks of the brick, with renko we can't have a correct Delta Volume because its equal to total ammount of ticks and NOT to Up Volume - Down Volume which is different from Total Ticks.
Is it possible to add this feature (Up volume and Down Volume) with Renko charts ?

Regards
