Some registry paths have changed, docs need updating...

Postby MidKnight » 02 Jun 2013

Hi MC team.

After my OS failure last week I've reinstalled windows over the weekend and of course, forced to reinstall MC.net64. In doing so, I decided to move my database and studies OFF C drive and onto D. The current FAQ on doing this refers to outdated or non-existent registry keys.

Code: Select all

With kind regards,
MK

Nothing ever works easily....

Trying to move my studies location as documented in the prior link. Modified the "CurrentStudiesLocation" key value to my new location as I couldn't find a "StudiesPath" key as the prior link said to change. Now I get no studies available at all in both PLEditor and in MC.net.

Hello MidKnight,

If the key name "StudiesPath" is missing - you need to manually create it.
Do not use "CurrentStudiesLocation" key - it is obsolete.

Copy "Techniques" folder from it's default location to the new location. For example new location of the "Techniques" folder will be "E:\new_location\". "StudiesPath" key value will be "E:\new_location\"

Hi Henry,

That did not work....Please see the attached screenshot.

I closed MC.net. Added "StudiesPath" to the registry. Restarted MC.net and tried to add a study and you can see the indicator list is blank, so is the signal list. PLEditor only shows the functions and nothing else.

In your case the value of "StudiesPath" key should be
D:\Program Files\TS Support\MultiCharts .NET64\StudyServer\

Return to “MultiCharts .NET”
