Japanese stock symbol

Postby lstman » 06 Nov 2013

I use Malticharts.net.
I added symbol "1570"(japanese stock) in QuoteManager from datasource"IB".
and, I could show chart of "1570".
But, I could not put order....
If I change symbol name from "1570" to "1570.T" on QuoteManager,
I can put order!! , but I can not show chart of "1570.T"....

I checked symbol name on TWS. it's "1570.T".
("1570" is underlying)
But, I cannot choose "1570.T" in quotemanager, because "1570.T" is not displayed.

What shall I do?

Please advise me.

Hello cdf.

I cannot choose "1570.TSE" in quotemanager also, because "1570.TSE" is not displayed.
there are the below symbols,only.
"1570 Exchange TSEJ"
"1570 Exchange SMART"
"1570 Exchange CHIXJ"

lstman, we are analyzing this behavior.
Please add the 1570 from the data source and then rename it to 1570.T to be able to use this instrument.

lstman, what exact version and build number of MultiCharts .Net are you running? (in MultiCharts go to Help tab-> About)

Hi Henry
Thanks for your kindly support.

And my version is the below.
MultiCharts .NET64 SE Version 8.7 Release (Build 7631)

then, I found that I cannot put order for "NK225MZ3" , also.
(I can show chart on MC.net)

The below message was displyed on "Order and Position Tracker".
"No security definition has been found for the request"

I checked quotemanager details.

Data Source: Interactive Brokers
Symbol name : NK225MZ3
Symbol root: N225M
Description: JPY DEC13 N225M Futures NK225MZ3 MULT:100

What shall I do?

Hi there,

Ahh the Nikkei, I used to trade it a lot back in 2005-2008 - a trip down memory lane......

But onto your issue, are you sure that it isn't Z13 ?

With kind regards,
MK

Edit: nevermind, I just looked it up on TWS, you are indeed correct.

Hi MidKnight
Thanks for your advice.

Your mean...
I have to change symbol name to "NK225MZ13" from "NK225MZ3" in quotemanager?

Hi there,

No best wait till support replies. I thought it may have been the problem initially, but as you will see in my edited post above. Your symbol is correct as per the TWS expects it to be.

All my best,
MK

lstman, "1570" instrument issue will be resolved in Multicharts .Net 8.8.

As for "NK225MZ3" - there is no such issue on our end.
Please re-add the symbol from the data provider:
In QuoteManager please go to Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source-> IB->Futures->N225M->NK225MZ3.
Then go to MultiCharts->File->Broker profiles->Symbol mapping->IB->Delete the mapping lines for NK225MZ3.
Please try to place an order now.
