v9.0 strategy positions with IB

Postby eunos64 » 14 Oct 2014

Strategy Positions doesn't work....

I just had updated MC.net64 v9.0 from v8.8 buld9593 last weekend.
I noticed that ...
Strategy Positions on Order and Position Tracker window show my position incorrectly, strategy open P/L shows 0, and never update P/L , open P/L same as .

I think this had me open positions in the end of day not according my strategy.

Few minutes ago, have uninstalled v9.0 and roll back to stable v8.8.
Strategy positions works fine ...

Is same issue happening on anybody else ?
I'm using TWS build 9462m.

I tried to report this on Project Management page, but the page cannot read with Chrome and IE.

Thanks,

Hello eunos64,

Do you use IB Financial Advisor account (Master account + Individual accounts) ?
Do you use allocations (automatic or manual allocations)?

Hello Henry

I'm using individual account only.
And I don't use any allocations.

are there any news on this topic? I had also to roll back to 8.8
It would also be great to have the last stable version as download link still available ... It was a little bit hard to guess the correct download link.

We have identified an issue with Balance values not updating when using IB Financial Advisor account. This issue will be fixed in MultiCharts 9.0 Release 2.
  1. There were no issues with position/PnL updates. If you have any - please do the following:
  2. Please close all charts/DOMs/Scanners for this instrument.
  3. Disconnect IB broker profile.
  4. Delete the symbol mapping for this instrument.
  5. Re-add the symbol from the data source.
In QuoteManager please go to Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source->IB.
  6. Plot the chart/DOM window for the IB instrument you need
or add the mapping manually if you are using a non IB data feed for your chart.

According to shortage of disk space, I had opportunity to replace SSD drive last week.
And rebuild from Windows system image.
There were newer version of java7 update 71, then I updated java from update67.
So, I had start MC 9.0 running and recognized that Open P/L come to work well and updated with price change, BUT Strategy Open P/L shows "0" and never updated after all.

Finally, I still remain using old system.
Should I install Windows and other applications one by one ....?

Anyway, I suppose to try Henry's suggestion in this weekend.

I'm using following system...
Windows7 64bit, java7 update67, TWS standalone 9462m

Any information appreciate.
Thanks.

If I have delete the symbol mapping, what will it affect on historical data ?
Will it delete data completely ? or keep their data aside on anywhere ?

Symbol mapping will not affect your user data. Databases will remain unchanged.

Strategy positions issue have been solved.

It works perfectly after some procedures....
-Install Windows and other applications including MC 9.0 on brand new SSD drive.
-From my backup data, Copy and paste files "FBPORTFOLIO.GDB, TSCACHE.GDB, TSSTORAGE.GDB" in folder C:\ProgramData\TS Support\MultiCharts .NET64\Databases except for files "Dictionary, Dictionary.ucs".
-Add some symbol roots in symbol dictionary like "N225M, SGXNK.....etc..." not listed in default dictionary.

This is my case.
It will work with normal update process and with Henry's suggestion maybe.
I think MC 9.0 is the best way for new user trading US-market only, but for existing user trading non-US markets they come to get this issue probably....

And I noticed another point about new feature "Dynamic currency conversion" affect slippage costs.
I want to post about this topic in another thread.

Thanks,

At last, I have updated v9.0 release4 because connection to TWS becoming unstable and frequently lost with older version.

Of course, this needs some work on symbol mapping.
After that newer MC works fine and I am looking forward to try new features.

If anyone experience this problem, I recommend to delete old symbol mapping at all.

Thank you, Henry.
