Moving Average for MACD Histogram

Postby datamonkey » 17 Dec 2014

In sub-chart 2 I have MACD open and I want to add a Moving Average which is calculated on the histogram values, not price action.

When adding an MA to the sub-chart all I seem to be able to get is the MA calculated on price, not the MACD itself.

I've looked in the 'Format Study' options window but couldn't see anything that would help me there...

Anyone know how to change the values to make this happen please?

Thanks :)

Hello datamonkey,

Please see MultiCharts .NET FAQ post #15:
How to access objects of one study from the another one.
Thanks Henry,

Is that the only way? To code the indicator?

I have zero .NET coding knowledge so would appear to be stuck! :/

MultiCharts with PowerLanguage has this feature without programming: Study on study.

MultiCharts with PowerLanguage has this feature without programming: Study on study.
That's exactly what I need but looks like I chose the wrong version...

Why is this option not available in .NET MC? I thought the feature list was supposed to be identical?

I don't want to purchase another lifetime licence just to get that option!

Thanks for the info.

Can I just please ask why is this option not available in .NET MC? Shouldn't the feature list be identical?

The feature is available in MultiCharts .NET, but in a different shape. .NET programming architecture does not allow accessing this feature the same way it is done in PowerLanguage.
