Oanda DS Auth Failed

Postby MidKnight » 19 Jan 2015

Just today for some reason, the usual OANDA authorization screen has stopped working.

Usually when I first open up an Oanda symbol for the first time within a multicharts session, it will display a popup allowing me to login to Oanada and allow access to the Oanda the API. Today that popup screen is displaying for a fraction of a second and then disappearing. Quote manager event log is showing me:

Code: Select all

[01/20/2015 13:49:05] Establishing connection to OANDA: Datafeed Version= 1.0.10362.400
[01/20/2015 13:49:05] Establishing connection to OANDA...
[01/20/2015 13:49:05] Login failed: AUTH FAILED.

Several restarts later and a lot of time has elapsed since my initial report - now login works with the popup remaining visible until I enter the user/pass. No idea what happened or why it was in error earlier today.

That's indeed odd. Have you checked your Internet Explorer settings? From an earlier discussion (here) it was said that the logon window uses IE. That link also mentions some settings in IE that can be changed to solve problems (though I don't know if it fixes your specific problem).

Thanks JoshM,

Nothing changed on my end except time elapsed....I haven't even re-booted my computer since starting work this afternoon. Should it recur, I'll visit the link you posted - thank you.
