Selecting the start time of a bar

Postby yosnappyj » 02 Mar 2007

I'm running MCFX Basic Beta.

Is it possible to set the start time of a bar when compiling a chart?

For example, if I compile a 4 hour chart, I'm given bars with timestamps (local time):

0700 1100 1500 1900 2300 0300

As 4 hour bars are (if I understand correctly) compiled from 1 hour data, is it possible to begin compilation from a different 1 hour bar, to produce 4 hour bars with correspondingly different timestamps, eg:

0900 1300 1700 2100 0100 0500

Likewise, is it possible to create (for example) 30 minute bars that begin and end at a quarter past and a quarter to the hour? Or 24 hour charts that begin and end at midnight, or London Open, and not (as they seem to be generated automatically) NY Close.

If not possible in MCFX Basic, can this be done in MCFX Pro?

I don't think you can, but it would be nice.
