Session breaking unnecessary in POINT and CHANGE charts

Postby terminal7 » 19 Apr 2007

TSSupport:

What is your reason for breaking candles by session in POINT and CHANGE charts? It appears to me that these types of charts do not require synchronization by session as do TIME-based charts.

If this is true simply do not reply to this. Traders will assume your silence to be tacit acknowledgement of the fact that you have implemented an entirely un-needed procedure in your POINT and CHANGE charts.

The following graphic demonstrates the artificial inflation and event distortion caused by excessive (or in this case totally unnecessary) session breaking in charts.

In the graphic posted above it's important to note that, in the "crunched candle" section, no candles were removed and there is no data loss - SBC's were simply merged with neighboring candles to help in visualizing what a low or non-SBC chart would look like.

TSSupport: Still waiting for your reply to the first post...

Here is another example graphic, much better than the one above I think, showing how session breaks in POINT charts distort events and bloat the chart. The same phenomena takes place in TIME based charts that have an excessive number of broken candles...
