Server Down Alarm

Postby pester ofir » 24 Oct 2007

I would like to see a Server Down Alarm implemented on the client (Alarm sound and automated email option). After a certain configurable period of time, the MCFX client could "realize" that the connection to the server is broken and issue an alert. The same feature should be implemented for unfulfilled Order2Go orders !

Everyone who has or plans to have an automated trading strategy running would greatly appreciate such a feature.

Thank you for the suggestion Ofir.

We will add your request to our requests-to-be-implemented list.

Best regards.

This is an excellent request. Identifying any outages, interruptions, disconnects, etc., and sounding an audible alert (and perhaps email, pager, cell-phone alert options) would be great to have.

Also, it would be great if the server could detect when a client is disconnected, so that any orders or positions can be put into some kind of fail-safe mode. Not sure what that would be, but perhaps there could be predefined actions that the user could specify be taken in case of an outage of more than x minutes. I intend this comment to be interpreted in terms of strategy automation - not any kind of discretionary trading, as the discretionary trader will probably be aware of problems and can take manual corrective action or pick up the phone to call the trade desk.
