Important TWS Upgrade Notice (Using MC to Autotrade)

Postby Spaceant » 26 Apr 2014

Did anyone receive the following message from IB: -
".....
Effective May 1, 2014, TWS versions below 940.0 will no longer be operable for API use, but will remain operable for non-API generated orders. It’s important to note that if you are integrating a third party software application (charting, order entry, analytical, etc.) with the TWS, you are doing so through the API and must upgrade if you wish to continue using that application.

To repeat, if you are receiving this notice and intend to continue using an API for order submission, you must upgrade your TWS version and the deadline for doing so is prior to May 1, 2014. "
My TWS is Build 939.9p and Java version is 1.6.0_27

Has anyone upgrade TWS to 940 and later version that needs Java 1.7 and autotrading with MC without any problem??

I have just updated my MultiCharts and TWS last week, both to the latest version.
No problems observed so far.

TJ,

Could you specify all versions? Do you use MC to autotrade?

Hello everyone,

The latest version of IB TWS we tested with MC is 944.3 from 2014-04-01. Seems to work fine.

Dear Users,

New CME API requirements has been incorporated into Interactive Brokers TWS.

Because of this, all clients using API feeds need to upgrade to the latest build of the standalone version of the Trader Workstation available from IB website: http://individuals.interactivebrokers.c ... entity=llc

MultiCharts will not work correctly with any other IB TWS standalone version or any web-based TWS version.

It should be also working with the web-based version, we simply recommend the standalone one. If you want to use the web-based one, please make sure the "Launch Trader Workstation at start" box is not checked in the settings of IB source in QuoteManager.
