Algo trading on a large portfolio

Postby wjiang » 01 Aug 2014

I'm trying to use multicharts to do some algo trading. If I correctly understood the user manual, is it true that I can do it only with chart windows (not on scanner window)? The problem is I want to monitor 5000+ symbols. Does that mean I have to open 5000+ chart windows to monitor all of them?

In MultiCharts .NET, you can also trade from the Market Scanner window. See here for an example: How to utilize Real Time Market Scanner for auto trading.

That approach is somewhat unnecessary now that there's also portfolio trading in MC 9.0 Beta (a manual can be found here). Portfolio Trading also will not require creating a chart for every instrument.
