Having a performance report open and altering a data setting still consumes 99% of Ram :(

May be you use big data, and store Cache in RAM ?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TS Support\MultiCharts64\Storage\

UseFileCache = 0 (Cache in RAM - Fast Scan,Fast work)
UseFileCache = 1 (Cache in HDD - For big data, slow work)

Ps. if Cache in RAM, MarketScanner work x5-10 faster than old Cache in HDD

Ps2. MAtricks I test with Perfomance report, change time resolution, Data range, with opened Perfomance report, normal work, not have error from 9.0b2. ( I have clear installation, remove old, and install new )

TCust, I wish it was something on my end.. Sadly, it hasn't been.

This definitely didn't happen on the first try so I know that work was put into it. The issue happened after several times of opening and closing multiple windows and performance reports. I'll try to retrack my steps to see if I can clearing reproduce the problem.

jl12, if this happens again please do not end these processes.
Go to Start->All programs->MultiCharts64->LogsCollector.
The tool will collect the logs, create dump files, zip them and upload to our FTP.
Please let me know when you upload the dumps and I will forward it to our engineers for analysis.
If the file cannot be uploaded automatically please manually upload it to any file sharing hosting and send me the download link. After that is done you can end the processes and restart MultiCharts. Please also let me know if you have the steps for replicating this behavior.

Have you guys set a max height for the DOM?
For some reason I can't bring it lower than that.
Is it me or is that the exact same height of Windows Taskbar? Is the DOM size locked to the main screen height?

DOM window height is limited. Approx to the primary monitor resolution. It has been like that for long time already.

I'm most certain that in prior versions I was able to extend it to full secondary screens height.
Not a big issue.
Thanks

Something weird happened today with the DOM connected to IB while on a trade.

All of the sudden my position disappeared from the DOM (no white cell and no indication I had an opened position). A minute after or so, my position is once again visible on the DOM but I have the indication that the position is 7000 ticks against me.
I ended up closing the position.

Unfortunately I did not take any screenshot of it :( but it's the second time this happens with version 9.
I'm sending the logs in hope that something got registered.

I've just noticed that volume delta charts does not have the Center Last Price option.

Please don't tell me that this option would be an infringement to TT's DOM patent.

Do you want the price to remain on the same level and the bars to form around it?

Since we can't have a static DOM due to TT's patent, the idea here would be to have a "static" volume delta. So like you said, price remains at the same level while the bars would form around it.

A couple of things would need to be taken in consideration here, since for better visualization, we usually need move the price scale manually, like the attached image, an option to set the last price to center, would need to maintain that scale we manually set.

Image

If setting the last price to the center compresses the bars based on the plotted series that would nullify the last price center option because it would be impossible to see the number for each price, something similar to the attached image.

It will be helpful if MC team can also tell us when MC 9.0 release candidate and final version of MC 9.0 is expected. Thanks a lot.

There is a user add on called ScrollsLite on NT that allows the whole chart to be moved up down and across whilst keeping the scale, so maintaining VB legibility.

As such the last price can easily be centred and VBs above and below viewed

Something similar would be very useful on MC.

YES ! because it is urgent to manage orders, some of them are rejected and my easylangage code can't know why ! I see popup messages, but my study can't read them !

When an indicator status is turned off and it is the only object the window remains.

I have to remove the indicator to free the redundant screen space.

That is possible to disable the option "Enable indicator status switch in a status line of a chart" in File->Preferences->Charting. Once that is done - in such situation, when the indicator is switched off (Format->Studies)- it's subchart will disappear automatically.

That is possible to enable the option "Center last price" in Format->Instrument->Scaling tab when scaling is set to Screen or Entire Series.

Only now I noticed that when the price scale is set to screen we can see the Center Last Price Option

Image

but when is set to User Defined, it's not

Image

When price scale is set to screen this is how the footprint is viewed

Image

but when we set it to center last price this happens

Image

For some reason MC compresses the scale in a way that after a while we can't read a thing :(
The way I would like to see the center last price to work would be to retain the option independently of the scaling range chose.
So if we manually set the price scale like this

Image

the center last price option would retain that manual scale and the last price would always be centered.

Is this possible?

If we center last price and then change the price scale manually like the chart above it seems the option is temporarily disabled and once we set the scale to screen again it centers the last price automatically till we disabled it again.

Unfortunately that is not possible and this improvement is not in our to-do list at the moment.
