error msg "Can't find dll "elcollections2.dll"

Postby masber2000 » 25 Aug 2016

Hello-

Is there a specified file path that the elcollections dll should be placed? Currently I have the ELCollections2.dll for MC64 located in D:\Program Files\TS Support\MultiCharts64 (I've tried it using the "C:\" path too, and get the same error message). I've also unblocked the dll, yet I'm still getting this error message.

Am I missing a step here? I've found very little guidance on how to install elcollections in Multicharts.

Thank you

What output do you get by giving the command

Code: Select all

regsvr32 ELCollections2.dll
in the folder D:\Program Files\TS Support\MultiCharts64 ?

Btw, is ELCollections2 ready for MC ? I thought it needs an activated TS ?

Regards

Ben

masber2000,

as far as I am aware elcollections2.dll is a 32 bit DLL and will only work in TS (maybe MC 32bit, but I never tried that). You might want to switch to the 64 bit version of ELCollections.DLL that you can obtain here in the forum.

I am not sure what new functions are added in elcollections2.

Here's the 64 bit version of the original elcollections.

@TJ

Source : TS-Forum
Updates in this new version:

Memory management has been tuned to support larger ADE data sets.

File functions now use file locking for robust concurrent operations.

The ADE directory specified during installation is now stored in the Windows registry by the installer.

The ADE.Directory function now reads the directory location from the registry. You no longer need to customize this function if you are using an ADE directory different from C:\ADE. Just specify the location of your ADE directory during installation, and the ADE.Directory function will automatically return that location.

If you move or rename your ADE directory, just navigate to that directory in Windows Explorer and double-click UpdateADEPath.cmd. This will update the path in the registry so that ADE uses the new directory location.

The ADE template files have been moved to a Templates subdirectory within the ADE directory.

The ADE User Guide and ELCollections Guide are now delivered as bookmarked PDF files.

ELCollections.dll and ELCServer.exe now stay loaded automatically during an optimization.
But as I ssaid previously, you need an activated TS on your workstation.

Kind Regards.

Ben
