Trying to assign a shortcut to the Performance Report does not work here. And BTW, shortcuts in general are apparently not saved with backup.

Hello gpw797,

Most likely you have a lot of windows within one MultiCharts instance.
In MultiCharts 14 we’ve introduced the control over the available resources during automated trading. This is done in order to minimize the possibility of crashes during automated order execution.
For each process Windows allows 10000 GDI objects. You will see this kind of messages when you have reached a threshold of 7500 GDI per one MultiCharts process. This is by design.
You need to open your workspaces in several MultiCharts instances. Also we would recommend to leave some free resources on your machine when autotrading so it could handle extreme load times.

Hello mydesign,

Please make sure that you’ve properly configured the shortcuts. If all is done correctly, then you should be able to see the assigned keyboard shortcut next to the menu option.

Please make a similar screenshot as the one I attached and post it here.
Also when the keyboard shortcuts don’t function, is it possible to call the report from the View menu?

Shortcut is properly configured (Shift+Z), but it is missing from the menu (both on main menu and contextual menu).

Does the limitation on "numbers of windows" exist with portfolio trader? Does it have similar restrictions? It seems to bog down as well when loaded up with numerous instruments

gpw797,

There are no restrictions. If the issue keeps happening, please send us your portfolio workspaces, export of symbols used, export of signals in PLA, logs, screenshots for illustration and the steps for reproducing this on our end.

Mydesign,

Trading performance report is not the same as Strategy performance report.
Trading performance report is not available from the chart context menu that is shown on your screenshot, you can only access it from the View menu or from Chart trading panel.
And it is only available when the broker profile is connected and when there were any real trades that happened on the broker (or Paper Trader).

According to your screenshot you haven’t assigned a shortcut for the Strategy performance report. You need to do that to be able to use the combination and back it up.

You can find more about the differences of reports here.

Sorry, another issue: i usually run MC on 2 PC's, one for live trading and one for backtest. I use the method described in the wiki for the licence managment (with fake proxy set on offline PC):

https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... _same_time

With the latest beta, the new licence management does not allow to start MC if it cannot check the licence, even if set previously to offline mode. it seems that what was required once a month with MC12 is now mandatory every time we run MC 14.

Could you please confirm and/or give a solution ?

Thanks

Hello Mydesign,

Thanks for pointing that out.
We confirm there is an error in the Offline mode working. We’ll fix this in the release version.

The new 'Format signals' dialogue in BETA 4 is UNUSABLE.

Tiny 'icons', all over the place...AND WHERE DID THE 'OPTIMIZE' BUTTON GO??

It was sooo convenient to have all buttons (bold and clear) in one location, close to each other. A typical routine - Open a signal, change some params, turn off some 'exit' signal and press the 'Optimize' - could be done with your eyes closed...

I really liked the 'visibility' changes introduced in beta 2(or 3?), where all action buttons in this dialogue window became somewhat bigger (or so it seemed) and 'clearer', helping usability and productivity a lot. I am a long-time heavy user and I did feel the (positive) difference.

Can we please have the previous layout back?

Also:
- can we have a ' dark' theme?
- can MC automatically set the 'end date' for all data series to that of data 1??
this would be a great time saver!

Dear MC-Support

Optimization Report 3D Graph does not show up!
(but Spreadsheet, 2D Graph shows up as it should)

Repair, delete and reinstall MultiCharts64 OpenBeta Version 14.0 (Build 19747) do not help either.
( but the separately started program "ORVisualizer.exe" displays the 3D graphic)

What is going wrong?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Zheka,

Thank you for the feedback.

In the current version the Optimize button can be found in the Cahrt Analysis toolbar and in the context menu of the chart. We will bring it back to the dialogue box.
- can we have a ' dark' theme?
- can MC automatically set the 'end date' for all data series to that of data 1??
Our engineers are considering your suggestions.

Hi Anna,

Just look at it from perspective of usability and productivity:
- to open "Strategy Properties" -> one has to...?? - A! Its that small wheel in the top right corner?
- to disable a signal -> need to move to the opposite side of the window and "uncheck".
- to Format, Edit, Remove - one has to very precisely point to a smallish icon

The new layout is probably cleaner and prettier, but is really painful to work with effectively.
There is a lot of white space now...but who needs it ?

PLS do consider bringing the BUTTONS (not icons) back!

Thank you!

Agreed, this makes sense. We’ll make the required adjustments.
Just revert to the previous layout:

- BUTTONS
- all IN ONE PLACE so as to minimize mouse/attention movement
- 'deactivating' a signal should also be in the same area (not on the opposite side of the window!)

One good addition in the recent one to keep is "greying out' of inactive signals.

Thank you for the soonest resolution on this.

Hi to all,
I Know that is a minor update but it would be great and useful if in the MC 14 release would be possible to have this feature along the Volume Profile chart
https://www.multicharts.com/pm/public/m ... es/MC-2553
A possible choice from line or point/dots for the developing POC
specially if you use VWAP bands or VWAP, a developing POC plotted by points and not Line reduces the signs on the chart
THANKS

I have to disagree ! The new UI is much better in terms of usabiltiy. Much less mouse clicks and moves are required to achieve usual actions. For instance:

To enable / disable a signal:
MC12: Move pointer to signal > select the signal > move to Status button > Click (4 actions)
MC14: Move to signal check box > click on it (2 actions)

To change the order of signals:
MC12: Move pointer to signal > click on signal > move to Up or Down button > Click several times until you reach the required location (at least 4 actions)
MC14: Just drag and drop the signal to the required location

Just do that 50 times a day and you'll undersdand the benefit !

To enable / disable a signal:
MC12: Move pointer to signal > select the signal > move to Status button > Click (4 actions)
MC14: Move to signal check box > click on it (2 actions)
Pls re-read my actual suggestion.
'deactivating' a signal should also be in the same area (not on the opposite side of the window!)
As for
To change the order of signals:
MC12: Move pointer to signal > click on signal > move to Up or Down button > Click several times until you reach the required location (at least 4 actions)
MC14: Just drag and drop the signal to the required location
Did not mention this at all. Of course, 'drag-and-drop' is better than buttons.

Volume Profile Drawing Tool Width

Postby momentum » 05 Jun 2020

I often want to use the VP drawing tool only on a few bars. However, in the Properties tab the width adjustment only allows for 100%. Can you release this limitation so I can use 200% or 300% or more so I can see the VP I draw properly instead of being squashed to the few bars its drawn on.

Hello Smoky,

Do you remember the specific steps to reproduce the issue?
Do you still face the issue now? If yes, please click Open Windows Task Scheduler in the Historical Data Download Scheduler window and remove the task. After that you will need to create the task again.

Hello,

Any deadline in view for MC14 release ? It has been in Beta since November 2019... Oh and BTW what happened to MC13 ?

As a last feature request, if not too late, I'd love to see the possibility to manually change inputs values "on the fly" while staying in automated trading mode. This should be now feasible since you introduced the realtime re-optimization (self-adaptive): the core mecanism is there anyway.
