If you change the visual ordering of objects in a chart, in particular the data series is not the last object in the display list, snap to object produces unpredictable results.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Could you please provide more details on the problem? And illustrate it with screenshots if possible?

Thank you.

Hi Marina,

Its easy to reproduce.

Open a c hart and put a few studies on it - any will do.
Right click > change visual order > Select the data series and bring to front.

Now any drawn objects will start snapping to studies.

Cheers.

Dear Nick,

This behavior is not a bug, but a normal program behavior. The drawn objects will snap to whatever comes first in the status line or forms the first (the deepest) layer on the chart. When adjusting the objects that were drawn and 'snapped' before the visual order has been changed they will snap to the series they were initially tied to.

Hi Marina,

It would be much better to snap to the object that has the 'tick' beside it. (the object that is selected when you right click in the price margin). Often you may have a study (e.g. a 200 day MA in a thick plot) that you want the price bars to plot on top of. Its pretty meaningless to snap trend lines to the 200day MA. Perhaps this could be considered as a wish list item.

Cheers.
Nick
