Firebird vs window restore vs hyperthreading issue

Postby 2haerim » 01 Dec 2007

I have read in some place that .GDB extension cause slow access owing to the Window Restore feature which monitors any access to one of the 600 types of file extensions.

http://dn.codegear.com/article/28142

One say that we have to turn off the system restore feature or not to use .GDB extension to make the db access faster.
If this is true, using .FDB extension for example, would be a solution?

Please check this issue.

It is also said that with HyperThreading firebird/interbase runs slowly and need to turn off HyperThreading.

Please check this issue too.

So, not to worry about the performance for .GDB any more?

Have you seen any article that this .GDB extension has no problem with Windows Restore feature any more?

Please give me the link, if you know one.
