<no symbol> 0 <no datafeed> after MC crashed

Postby dupl » 21 Nov 2007

Hello,

MC crashed, I dont remember a special reason and after restart of MC all charts in all Workspaces shows this: <no symbol> 0 <no datafeed>
See screenshot.

What can I do?
Thanks

PS: In the QM the symbols and data are there, e.g. the 6EZ7 from the screenshot

EDIT: if I try to open a new Chart, no data source, no dropdown menue in Format Symbol dialogue! :?:

when MC crashes, not all the modules are released from memory. When you re-start MC, the old modules will create conflict with the new ones.

The best way to start with a clean slate is to re-boot the computer.

Hi,

Sometimes, there might be some processes left after crash (tsServer.exe, MCActiveX.exe). To start with a blank slate these processes must be terminated (through the task manager).

Regards.

I had NO crash

Postby dupl » 23 Jan 2008

I had NO crash!

Hello,
I open this Workspace with this Chartwindow every day. And today sudden it says at my F8 contract No Symbol, why?

I tried the following: changed in the Format Symbol Settings the Compression, the Fieled...
closed an re opened the Workspace, but get anyhow No Symbol...

In Quotemanger I can see the tickdata and minutes data. So the symbol and data are there.

Can I lose this data if I do a "Chart Reload"?
During reloading the new corrected data will be received from the datafeed, the chart redrawn and the old incorrect ticks deleted from the QuoteManager database.

Hello dupl,

Have you tried plotting this symbol separately?

Also, could you please give the full symbol name, its category, exchange (as it appears in QuoteManager)?

Thank you.

What's the description of this symbol?

We can't find it. It's not listed on the CFE exchange in Symbol Search on the interactivebrokers website.

Try this if it works

I also experienced simliar problems with dupl and managed to live with it by this way.

Run QM and right-click the header row to see a submenu "Columns".
Click it and you will see Columns dialog. It is highly probable that checkboxes are unchecked or grayed out for all the fields.
Anyway, just reset or check whatever fields you want to see.

At least this worked for me. I hope this works for you too.
And TSS should fix this bug(?).

Dear dupl,

There must be some kind of mistake: there is no DVF8 futures provided by IB. Please see the attached screenshot.

You say you had been using this symbol for a while before the problem started and didn't make any changes to it?

Regards.

Excuse me this february 2008 contract is expired since 16-19 January.

But normaly I have no problems to chart expired contracts.
For example the:
november 2007 DV
december 2007 DV
january 2008 DV ... I can chart.

But only the february 2008 not, this is the strange point.

Thanks
