How do I return the tool settings. What file?

Postby bowlesj3 » 01 Apr 2008

Hi,

I have the C drive backed up so the tool settings are somewhere on that backup. Does anyone know what file it would be. Can I return it?

Thanks,
John.

What kind of tool settings would those be?

Hi Marina,

Fibonacci Retracement Price Lines is one of the more complex I use to set up profit distances. The Gann Square is another more complex one which I use to try to hold a minimum a mount of time. All the default settings for these tools I am assuming are in a file somewhere. It was a situation where I could not get MC3.0 to run at all even with a reinstall that kept the user settings. The full reinstall fixed the problem. So I was thinking that if there is a list of files that are used for specific user settings, I could at least keep this one file, do the full reinstall and then return this one file. I did manage to keep the 3 database files.

Thanks,
John.

Hi John,

Drawing settings are stored in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TS Support\MultiCharts\MC\MCCharting\Drawings

Thanks Marina. I'll have to brush up on the registry updates. Its a dangerous area.
