Issues with MC 4.0 beta 3 version

Postby Tresor » 28 Sep 2008

Hello,

I couldn't wait any longer to try the newly debugged Portfolio Backtester so I switched to the newest beta and have two issues to report on the newest beta version. I show the issues in the screenshot.

Regards

Another issue I have with the latest beta is that it freezes at opening (not responding). I need to restart a few times before it works properly.

Hi Tresor,

Both reported issue are, in fact, a single issue. It is all caused by those characters. They cause a crash and then after the crash, there are still some processes working at the background which result in a slow start-up.

The fix of the bug will be available in the upcoming release.

Regards.

Some Studies won't verify in Beta3

Postby brodnicki steven » 03 Oct 2008

I just installed Ver4 Beta3 and it won't verify many of my studies that verified in Beta 2. I'm including a simple function that won't verify in Beta3, that verified in beta2. I can't even get brackets to verify {}
I re-downloaded and repaired Ver4 beta 3 and it still won't work on some files, others DO verify.
*** I just installed Ver4 beta 3 on another computer(p4 3.0 gig) and it verifies all studies. it appears to be related to my new computer- is there a problem running MC4 beta3 on a Quad core ? (Q9400)

------ Compiled with error(s): ------
Compile error
errLine 0, errColumn 0, errLineEnd 0, errColumnEnd 0

[LegacyColorValue = TRUE];

{User Function: BWI}
Inputs: Len (Numeric),Stdev1(Numeric),Stdev2(Numeric);
Vars: Upper(0),Lowr(0),Avg(0);

Upper=BollingerBand(Close,Len,Stdev1);
Lowr=BollingerBand(Close,Len,Stdev2);
Avg=Xaverage(Close,Len);

Bwi=(Upper-Lowr)/Avg;

** Problem resolved, see thread above.

Hi Marina,

Even Multicharts, itself, is crying out for a new release. :lol:
