How To Auto Trade IB off Opentick Chart

Postby Thomas Mann » 07 Dec 2008

Hi,
I am still trying to resolve how to use a Opentick tick chart to generate orders to IB. I posted a reply in the other thread I started the other day but got no answer. Has anyone else used a alternate tick feed to generate orders to IB ? I have verified the symbol in the dictionary is IB, but I still get the #55 error no matter what I do. COuld MC support please post the steps to do this for me so I can verify my settings.
Thanks

I am still trying to figure out how to run a strategy on a symbol from Opentick and trade the IB symbol when the trigger fires.
Thanks

Hi,
Here is the original post I made on trying to figure out how to detect signals off the Opentick chart and have it send a order to IB. I tried what marina posted, but still get the #55 error from MC stating a invalid symbol name.
Thanks for the help.

Dear Thomas,

The underlying for this symbol can be checked in TWS (you'll see it if you switch to the underlying mode). From what I know, the underlying should be YM.

It sounds that some of the settings might still be incorrect. I would recommend contacting our customer support representatives on-line: this will be the fastest way to see what settings might be wrong/missing.

You could also send us a screenshot of your symbol dictionary settings - so that we could see right away if the problem is there or eslewhere.

Thank you.
