Suggestion: signals plotted on all timeframe

Postby Duvald » 29 Dec 2008

HI,
it would be a really unique feature, if Multicharts would allow buy / sell signals from backtests to be plotted on all timeframes of a multi time frame chart.

So for examples, signals generated on 1 minute data1 would also be visually plotted, syncronized on on 15min data2 and so on.

I really miss this feature.

Cordially,
Duval

Hi Duval,

The task that you have in mind has been implemented in portfolio backtesting. The only thing is that there are not charts in portfolio backtesting for signals to be plotted on, the reason being that most people who use portfolios work with numerous symbols. It would simply be impractical to have all of them plotted.

However, in future portfolio versions we will add the ability to plot charts. For example, you will be able to click on a symbol and have a chart plotted with signals placed in the right places for that symbol - taking into consideration such portfolio settings as capital constraints.

Finally, the portfolio that will be available in the upcoming beta 3, already allows working with different timeframes (see the attached screenshot).

Great news.
When ready, please show a screen with signals from small time frame (1mn) plotted on larger timeframe (1 hour).

Thanks,
D

Hi Duvald,

It will be available in February. However, for the time being you will only be able to view signals in the report.

Regards.
