Metastock datafeed.dll possible problem

Postby arnie » 01 Mar 2009

Hi.

I've been trying to access my metastock data files using MC in offline mode but every time I've tried it I've received a NO DATA warning.

Does this mean that the only way to access this data is with MC in online mode and with the Download missing historical data selected?

This restricts the trader ability to test his ideas during those days or hours that he is out, away from his internet connection.

Regards,
Fernando

Hi arnie,

In the offline mode, MultiCharts can only access what is there in its own database. MetaStock files are not part of that database. Therefore, you need to have 'online' and 'download missing historical data' chosen if you want to work with MetaStock files. However, since those files are located on your computer and need not be accessed through the internet, you will still be able to use MC with those files when you have no internet connection.

Hi Marina.

Something weird is happening.

Apparently, when I close MC and update my MS data, QM lose the associated MS folders :?

When I reopen MC I need to go to QM and associate, again, the MS folders.

Why is this happening?

This with MC 5 Beta 3.

Regards.
Fernando

Don't waste your time with beta 3, instead try beta 4.

Ma Bad

Sorry, about that. I wanted to say Beta 2.
I'm using Beta 2, NOT Beta 3.

I'm still psychologically affected with the Beta 3 experience :P

I'll test Beta 4 next weekend.

Thanks
Fernando
