View sum of loaded bars

Postby dupl » 12 Mar 2009

Hello,

is it possible to view somewhere in MC the sum of all loaded bars?
I need an orientation to handle MC in its capabilities!
Latterly with Version 5 Beta 2 (Build 1781) MC is freezing if I have open more than ~10 workspaces.
But maybe its only that I have to many bars loaded? But how to find out without a display of all loaded Bars? Would be nice to see it e.g. in statusbar.

Or which ways could give an orientation to handle MC in its capabilities?
This freezing is very ugly and I dont want to buy a new PC for every additional open workspace.

Thanks

If you have 10 workspaces with 1 chart in each workspace you get 1M bars. It is not a problem if you have more than 1 Gig of RAM. If you have less you will experience worse performance.
If you have more than 1 chart in each workspace it could be a problem too.

Could you send me your workspaces for tests?

Its too private. But I can say that I have in most of the Workspaces 2-4 charts and the each charts has 3-6 datasources (Bid, Ask, Trade).

I have 4 Gig of RAM.

1.) But do you see the idea to help to have an an orientation to handle MC in its capabilities with the PC of the customer? E.g. with a display of sum of all loaded bars.

2.)
E.g. in moment in Windows Task manger "memory usage history"
of the MutliCharts.exe has only 132 140K.
tsServer.exe has only 89 172K
But my last Workspace while opening did freeze MC for around 2 minutes. What could be the reason?

The PC is freezing complete while backfilling...from IB

Postby dupl » 13 Mar 2009

Andrew Kirillov: Could you send workspaces without your indicators. It is possible it will help, but your studies can cause the freezing, because indicators are most CPU intensive.
Since your task manager shows apprx. 200 mb for all MC process, the number of bar is not a case.
Try to isolate the issue and give me more information.
Thank you

I did isolate the issue! It seems to be connected with IB... and with data which are loaded first time by MC Version 5 Beta 4!?

Simple test with only one workspace one chart. But with six data sources. No indicators.
Every source has 15,000 Bars of Data Range.

The PC/Windows is freezing complete while backfilling....
The PC/Windows is freezing complete while trying to scroll the chart....
You hvae to wait 5-10 minutes until you can move the mouse a few centimeter and its freezing again for 5 minutes. Really amazing!
