Dear Stanley,

I made a mistake in my previous post.
I want to plot a 15min 20 MA on 5min chart,(Data1: 5min, Data2, 15min, MA is based on Data2). please check the attached screenshot, there seems a scaling problem.

Dear Sir,

It is possible in MultiCharts to base the study on any symbol in the multi-symbol chart. When study is applied to a multi-data chart, by default it is based on the base data series, referred to as Data1.

To base study on specific data series:
1. Access the Format Study window.
2. Select the General tab.
3. From the Base study on drop-down list select the data series to base the study on.
4. Check the Use as Default check box to use these settings as the default settings.
5. Click OK.

The study will still be in the same subgraph as it was before changing the base data series but the calculation is based on the selected data series. Please let me know if this makes sense.

Dear Stanley,

thank a lot for your quick response.
I guess you didn't catch what I meant.
I did exactly what you suggested. As you can see in the attached chart,
when 5min chart start to cross down 15min MA, on 15min chart, price still far above MA. (same MAs)

Please go to the scaling tab and check that you have Same as Symbol option enable.

Dear Sir,

It works the way it should, it uses the scaling options of the data series the study is based on.
