Not enough memory exception

Postby 2haerim » 03 Apr 2009

One user reported "Not enough memory exception" as shown in the attached pictures.

It seems MC has some problem when the memory usage grows near 1GB, but not sure about that. The user says when MC's memory usage approaches 1GB, he got "Not enough memory exception".

MC V5 Beta3 was used.

Haerim,
MultiCharts can use up 2Gb. Since your OS is Korean I can’t read your labels. Make sure you show Virtual Memory Size parameter and make a new picture.

Andrew,

I called the user and asked to capture the task manager with VM shown.
As soon as I get it, I will post it again.

BTW, I would like to know the 2GB limit is per one MC process or per all MC processes running.

Finally, I got several images with VM shown. See the pictures.

Even at about 700MB usage, got the same memory shortage exception.

Andrew,

I posted a new memory exception at about 700MB usage in the previous post.

Would you check?

We loaded lots of bars and MultiCharts worked properly until memory consumption reached 1.5Gb. However it was historical data. Do you collected data in real-time? We suspect it could be the case.

Andrew,

One user reported this exception.

He said he experienced it during market hours while plotting realtime, and I saw it from his PC after market hours using historical data.

It seems once it happens in realtime, it is repeated for the history data too.

If you need me to collect any other info, please let me know.

Thank you. Please ask your customer how many bars does he have on the chart and how many charts?
Could he give us his indicators and the workspace?

ok

I could send all the database files, pla and wsp.

But the user said he would lock the source with password.

Would that password protected file be useful for investigation?

Other thing is the size of zipped database files. It is too use to send.

Tell me how to send it if you need it too. If you don't need the database files, then it would be easier.

The chart has 14 data series and data1 is 1 tick bar chart.

The number of bars for data1 is 348,252. It is about 5 day's ticks.

Could you provide the workspace and indicators? Or it is proprietary?

We confirm that we have excessive memory consumption when one mixes several N tick data series.
We were able to reduce memory consumption.
Studies will be calculated about 3 times faster in such situations too.
It will be available in Beta 6.
