Perf Report Missing Signal Settings

Postby MC_Prog » 19 Aug 2009

Hi.

I notice that the signal settings (i.e. inputs, parameters) are not given in the Settings section of the Performance Report.

IMO, this is a serious omission, as a report on performance has no meaning if you don't know what strategy and settings of that strategy were used to create the performance.

Yes, we'll consider adding it.

Thanks for the consideration of this.

One further aspect is that it should be possible to save a performance report either with or without the settings info, depending upon whether that info is intended to be disclosed to the recipient.

Still Missing as of MC 6.0 Beta 2

Postby MC_Prog » 12 Feb 2010

I note that this situation persists in MC 6.0 Beta 2.

This is one of several key items pertaining to real-world usage of the MC backtesting capabilities that needs/deserves completion/enhancement prior to (IMO) turning all development attention elsewhere (e.g. manual trading, etc.).

You can: 1. backtest and optimize your strategies and 2. trade via MC.

We can only look at the charts. Non-algo traders should also be given the chance to trade via MC!

The enhancements you suggest are unimportant for majority of MC users. TSS should focus on manual trading now

This is an obvious oversight vs. TS's performance report which does have the settings. It should be trivial to add this - let's hope this is simply taken care of as a minor bug fix in a coming build.
