Suggestion: Export to excel

Postby Dug » 28 Aug 2009

Hi, as a suggestion.
Allow most things to be exported to excel for greater flexibility....
eg; the scanner window data. Portfolio performance reports - individual sections and not the whole thing.

That way people can easily use the flexibility of excel to do things that they require that MC might not do yet, or might not do in the manner they require.
eg; there is a bug in the portfolio drawdowns....no problems, export the data to excel and do your own till its fixed.

export scanner with a simple copy and paste....that way you can add your own conditional formats or extras and use excel as the scanner.

Otherwise as a new use to MC, i like what i see (once you get past how flexible the system actually is).
thanks,

thats fantastic.
This would mean that MC becomes even more flexible.
As most other programs cannot talk to excel....apart from a few exports of OHLC

If you could export say the scanner into excel, or even just do a cut and paste so that the columns values in the scanner can be dropped into an excel sheet then it allows MC to become available to use in many more areas.
eg; i currently follow 100 plus instruments, but cannot get the actual indicator values into excel. (a real pain)
If the values are able to be put into excel then I could run conditional macros, position sizing macros and risk far easier.
I look forward to it
thanks.

use PRINT to write to a text file (csv),
you can then use Excel to open the file,
or use macro to read the file and important the data into your worksheet.

RTP to Excel would be ideal. I'm running an alternative platform next to MC just for this feature.
