Duplicated daily bars (eSignal data feed)

Postby tradinghumble » 05 Jan 2010

Hi, I'm having a problem where the daily bars for some stocks appear twice (just the last bar)... anyone have seen this before?

I'm using eSignal as data feed.

Thanks.

Only once it happened to me about 2 months ago with the last MC version around that time.
attached an image of that. OEC is the data. This is the ES daily chart.

It cleared up by itself and did not return. Still have no idea why the daily bars doubled.
I had posted this chart somewhere ( image attached is a small section of chart posted ) when I realized later that day what happened and posted again my error in chart.

No problems since then.

Just an easy STRG+R will solve the problem and data will be re-loaded. That's it. Easy thing.

Kind regards.

Piranha, agreed, but the problem I'm scanning thorough 100+ stocks every day... kind of annoying to press CTRL+R all the time... PLUS, makes you uncomfortable about what you are really "seeing"...

Anyone else found this issue... seems like some sort of caching...

Build up a macro ... Setup is one time hard work, but after that it's easy game.

Here's another one on the daily chart issues using Esignal. I have this issue too.

A quick search in the forum returns these threads discussing the issue of duplicate daily bars:

    Hi

I've just connected MC to eSignal and I've no duplicate daily bars on my charts.

But some came up that I wasn't aware off, isn't it possible to download data in MC, access data in eSignal software at the same time? :?

A couple of years ago, when I had also eSignal and back then Metastock, I was able to have both software's working, and now I have data manager in red mode

    What is happening?

Also, can anyone in QM able to access the eSignal settings in the Data Source option?
    I can't :?

    Regards,
    Fernando

I can't access the eSignal settings in QM either. And as I mentioned in a prior post, there is the duplicate issue and the delay waiting for a new tick to show the latest daily bar.

It seems to me the issue with the current daily bar could be resolved by building the current bar using data from the tick/minute server until a new tick comes in from the real time server.
