TS 8.8 ELD Compatibility

Postby Bruce DeVault » 04 Apr 2010

Could TS Support please take a look at TS 8.8 ELD compatibility? It appears that the ELD import mechanism is no longer functional with ELDs created by the latest TS release 8.8.

Hi Bruce.

I've heard that TS created EL, but never registered the patent.
This have allowed others to use it also. Is this correct?

Since MC was born in the shadow of TS and luckily was able to create a name for itself, being you a trading consultant, what are your thoughts regarding the possibility that TS have, some how, to block their ELD's so MC can't import them.

Considering MC as a threat to TS, can they protect their studies?
If so, could this affect MC and their business?

Regards,
Fernando

I can't speak for whether or not the file format is patented - I don't have any information on this.

But, it seems more likely to me that it's a simple question of TS released a new version and it has new features e.g. Strategy Network etc., and to accomodate this and other improvements they have been working on, they updated their ELD file format.

It's probably just that simple.

This problem has happened before and TSupport did fix it, I can't remember which version of Multichart it was. It seems TS changes file formats more often these days.

Thanks - it can be things as minor as a revision in the header so the file is identifiable as containing additional new keywords. It's quite possibly something simple of this sort and just needs to be looked into.

It was wrong in on my part to think that this issue will be addressed and fixed in official release version MC 6.

Disappointed to say least.

Dear Sirs,

The problem has already been fixed.
Congratulations to the Multicharts team. This is confirmed. New Version: 6.01.3605.400 (9th August 2010), is able to import TS 8.8 eld.

Unfortunately, TS 8.9 has just finished beta ....
