Combining Studies for more speed?

Postby bowlesj3 » 10 Jul 2010

I have 9 studies running on my 1 minute bar chart.

I don't suppose anyone knows how much speed or efficiency is gained in MC if I was to try and dump the code from one or two of them into another one such that I only run 7 studies instead of 9. Am I correct in assuming that once MC is loaded the code is residing in memory. If all that is involved are looping control tables and a branch and link out to each study I figure it would essentially be zero savings.

Thanks,
John.

Dear John,

Yes, you are correct, once MC is loaded the code is residing in memory. So there is no point in dumping the code from one or two of them into another one for the purpose of memory saving.

Thanks Dave,

That is just great. I am going to make reference to this thread in the tips and tricks for MC efficiency. It is a very important thing to be aware of.

I am also assuming it is not just memory but rather processing speed too.

John.

Dear John,

You are welcome. Yes, it's not just memory, processing speed too.
