Feature request - QM direct download

Postby arnie » 28 Nov 2010

Hi.

One thing that would be useful in QM is be able to download historic data directly.

I've just added 150 new symbols to my database and to download their historic data I need to open a chart for each of them.

If QM had some option that we could select to download the data length chose by us, it would save a lot of time.

Also, isn't possible when we add a symbol to a scanner window and it is saved on QM database, eSignal dictionary could recognize that symbol and add the description of it like it does when we add a symbol manually?

Regards,
Fernando

It can be done.

It can be done.
That is for export the data that QM already downloaded.
What I'm referring too is an import alike feature, but intead from ASCII, would be directly from, in my case, eSignal servers.

OK, I could go round this and use QCollector to download all data in ASCII and then import it to QM, maybe I'll do that, but if QM had this feature would be a lot easier and faster for all the users that don't have a program like QCollector.

OK, forget QCollector.

It's a nightmare to import each ACSII file that QC creates.
QM don't recognize the exchange and the description of each ACSII symbol file that QC creates.

Back calling each symbol chart...

Actually, if QM had a download historic data ability this would free computer resources since we wouldn't need to have all symbols in our database connect to store all real time data.
At the end of the day, we would only need to select all of our symbols, click download data, and QM would download directly from the datafeed servers all missing data from the last day in the database 'til today.

Basically, this is what QC does.

Hello bluefightingcat,

You can download historical data for multiple instruments at once using Real-time Market Scanner or Portfolio Trader.
