Point value question

Postby arnie » 24 Jan 2011

Hi.

Using the symbol dictionary setting in QM, we have for 6B contract 62500 for big point value.
Is this correct?

For 6E we have 125000, that when multiplied by 10 we do get the $ point value, $12.5 per tick.
But if we use the same calculation for 6B we would receive $62.5 per tick, when it should be $6.25.

Is it me that couldn't understood the correct way point value is to be used or we should change that value for a correct calculation.

Regards

Dear arnie,

Please tell us what Multiplier do you see in IB TWS --> Contract information. Big Point Value in MC should be the same as Multiplier in IB TWS.

Well, it is the same, 62500.

So how to solve the problem when applying the same indicator to different contracts if not changing the big point value itself in QM?

Dear arnie,

Unfortunately, there are no workarounds. You can change BPV settings in QM or create a separate indicator for each contract.
