Format Window menu - change Marker Style

Postby virginiatrader » 27 Jan 2011

I use red and green candles on a light gray background for my charts. I like the idea of the Precise Marker and Countdown Marker, but am not keen on the markers using the same colors as my candles.

I would like to have the markers stay one color as the price and time change on my five minute chart. Can the color of the markers be changed? If not, a nice feature to add.

Dear virginiatrader,

This cannot be done at the moment. Please post a feature request in Project Management.

TJ:

Thanks muchly, but that seems to apply to the marker(s) on chart studies...MAs, RSI, etc. The markers I would like to modify are on the price itself, move up and down on the Y-axis, and change to the color of the up-bar or down-bar.

I think you have just discovered a bug...
Candle style does not allow a price plot marker to show up.

virginiatrader
which MC version you are using?

you can go to Help> About MultiCharts...
then copy and paste the version number here.

I have given it a try and it works.

you can do this:
add this indicator...

Code: Select all

plot1(h, "h");
plot2(l, "l");
plot3(c, "c");
set it up as invisible plot, with the markers checked.

the chart should look like this:

if yours does not come out the same,
then try these changes:
1. right click on the chart, select Visual Order...
change the order of the the objects
2. right click on the price scale on the chart
change the objects selected

Hope this helps.
