New IB API Update (Mon Feb 14, 2011)

Postby Dave Masalov » 14 Feb 2011

Dear users,

Please find attached the latest IB API update.

Just unzip the archive and run Updater.exe. MC and QM should be closed.

This update fixes the issue with "Max rate of messages per second has been exceeded" error message as well as allows to lookup all symbols in QM.

Why is this update? I have no problems with MC6.01. After installing the update, only one chart in the workspace got the information, so I think it is not for me.

When I run the updater I see the following message:

ERROR: Unable to registry file. Res= 5, Err= 0
-->: regsvr32.exe "tsIBDataFeed.dll" /s
DONE

What does this mean?

Works fine for me but it seems I get another issue. Even before the update - but basically since today when I installed the new TWS version I have trouble with MC plotting realtime Crude Oil futures. All other items (that I plot) are updated tick by tick as expected.

Only Crude oil does not although QM states it is connected to realtime data. I use a continuous futures contract and as said it worked all the month before - now it stopped. Log of QM is attached. Any Thoughts?

Dear christianrichter,

Please use Rollover Condition - Time in custom futures settings in the Quote Manager. This should solve the issue.

Hi Dave- Have you read my post? In my workspace is a five graphs, only one received data from the IB .. Maybe this is just my problem, but the old MC6.01 works fine, my os is Vista64.

Never mind Dave, I fixed the problem. A couple of registry keys didn't have full permission for the Administrator group. They were:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tsTraderWorkstationSupplier.TraderWor.1
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tsTraderWorkstationSupplier.TraderWorks

I used Procmon to find out which keys failed to be accessed by regsvr32. They only had Read access for the Administrator group User SYSTEM has full access though but that's not the same as the Administrator.

Bit of a worry why this is so as all other "ts..." keys have the same issue. However, MC works fine, both before and after this fix. Something must have locked down the permissions. Should I change all the keys that begin with "ts" to full access for the Administrator group?

A new version of TWS was released recently: TWS 915 - Mar 4 2011. Does the MC_IB.zip update posted here on Feb 15 still apply, or is there a more recent update?

Dear gadol,

Probably you have older version of TWS that is why after installing the update you have experienced the issue. Please install the latest TWS version to eliminate the issue.
