Protecting workspace

Postby arjfca » 15 Apr 2011

Hello

Is it possible to protect a workspace. It is too easy to modify or erase study in it. That should be nice if we could work with it without have it saved automatically or having a chart erased by mistake.

File > Preferences > Workspaces

under Workspeces section

uncheck the box for "Do not show "Save workspace" dialog on Exit".

I back up my workspaces (among other things) every day. I use this:

I am sure there are other ways to do it.

Another way is to "Save As" for your workspace and give it a special name as your backup. It's a trick I learned from Jimmy Snowden from my TS days. Especially useful when they would become corrupt. You just delete the corrupt one, reload the old backup and save it by the deleted one's name.

I would follow the advice of the other users - there is no option to Protect Workspaces, since the user needs to interact with them all the time.
