QM and MBT: Offline and can't connect symbol

Postby 3man » 22 May 2011

Just installed MC, QM shows MBT offline but it is collecting data in MBT Desktop Pro. I should mention that I am using a demo account @ MBT, no LIVE account yet (does this make a difference?). I had to setup symbols manually and when I try to 'connect' I get the following application error :

<<EXCEPTION>>
Address: 0x60013054 ( 1610690644 )
Code: 0xC0000005 ( -1073741819 )

Description: The instruction at 0x
ErrorCode: 0xC0000005 ( -1073741819 )
ExceptionType: 0x00000000 ( 0 )
Module: C:\Program Files (x86)\MBTrading\MBT Desktop Pro\MbtCom.dll

What am I doing wrong?

Dear 3man,

Don't worry about the red Offline status in QuoteManager, it simply indicates that there is no real-time data streaming through. Your exception has been added to our database for analysis. Does this problem reproduce on a regular basis? If so, please make an entry in the PM with the steps to reproduce.

Dear moneymarkets,

I believe your question is related to this issue - https://www.multicharts.com/pm/viewissu ... _no=MC-387

The explanation is as follows - Software of every data feed and every broker evolves, and version 6.1 is a little outdated by now because of all the updates by brokers and data feeds. If you were using MC7 Beta 4 you wouldn't have had this issue with MB Trading.

So, you need to install an Updater for 6.01 to bring it up to par with the most current MBT version, and it should work. Save MCMB_11_6.zip to your computer (attached to the issue linked above). Close MultiCharts and make sure all processes load out. Unzip the archive, and run updater.exe. Click Update. Close when it says DONE. Should work fine after that.
