DOM PnL and FLAT Button

Postby horton » 16 May 2011

I've been testing the new DOM with my IB FA Paper Trading account. The DOM does not show my PnL for open positions and the FLAT button is disabled. The PnL shows up in the open order tracker but the account number shown is my master account number "DF******A, whereas the account I am trading with is DU*******. So maybe this is the issue with the PnL in the DOM, since I have that set to the DU account.

How do I get the PnL and FLAT button in the DOM enabled?

Have you tried setting the DOM to the DF account?

Yes I tried that and more today. I think the issue has to do with the setup of the paper trading account as an advisor account. The PnL shown in the open order status window is for DF******A. But the DF account number does not have an A. However, I think this implies that IB is not distinguishing between accounts since this is a paper account. So the "A" probably stands for "All" accounts under the DF account. I suspect the DOM is querying for the PnL status of the selected account and not getting a response since IB has everything thrown together.

So I am done with this issue for now. Hopefully it will not show up down the road on my real stuff.
