MC chart update interval?

Postby Laurentius » 08 Aug 2011

Hello,

I am wondering what the chart, or display, update interval is with MultiCharts? Meaning how fast does the MC charts update to display price changes.

Second, is there a way to change the default settings? With NT it is possible to set it down to one tenth of a second.

Thanks,
Laurentius

Laurentius,

There is no such update interval in MultiCharts: we update charts as soon as we receive data from the data provider, the only limitation is the power of your machine.

... and your way where and how to handle cache data. I already talked with Stan about. When you will implement a solution to be able to configure MC where to store cache data ? Right now it doesn't matter you install MC and the database in a RamDisk or iO-drive or something faster then hdd or sdd, cahce data are always handled and/or stored on drive C: . SSD or not, it's still a bottleneck if you want to handle a bigger amount of tick by tick data. MC will always lagging behind in super busy and fast markets. One socket/8 Core or 2 socket/ > core environment or not.

Regards.
