Data Feed keeps dropping

Postby mefTrader » 04 Oct 2011

I have 30+ workspaces using a TS and DTN IQ Feed (Delayed Data Feed) for EOD .

The workspaces can be open for weeks on End .

I find that when I initially open the workspaces the strategies keep up to date i.e post new signals / move the risk management at EOD as expected.. After a couple of days I am noticing that the Data Feed "goes to sleep" and I have to do CTRL+R to refresh the chart..

I think 0 q/0 s and "Authorized - Green" are consistently at the bottom of the screen

When does the data feed go to sleep and I have to do a "CTRL+R" to wake it up?

I have asked this issue before and I think the response I got was due to the delayed data feed - but cant see why this would be - the strategies are pure EOD?

Any ideas?

Hello MefTrader.
Please provide us additional information regarding your issue.
Have IQfeed charts stopped receiving real-time?
Have TS charts stopped receiving real-time also?
What version of MultiCharts are you running?
What version of IQFeed Client are you running?
Can this problem be reproduced on MultiCharts 7.1 beta 1?
Please download and install the latest update from this link:
https://www.multicharts.com/market-data-feeds/

If the problem can be reproduced on MC 7.1b1 please provide us the following information:
1) MultiCharts logs:
a)You can find log files here "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application
Data\TS Support\MultiCharts\".
You should paste this line in Start --> Run and in the window that will pop
up make a zip-folder.
b) You can click on the Windows Start button-> Programs -> MultiCharts ->
make a right click on Logs-> then click on Properties.
Go to the Shortcut tab and click on "Open file location".
In the appeared window please compress to Zip folder called "Logs".
2)IQConnectLogs: Default path to IQConnectLog.txt in Windows 7: C:\Users\User\Documents\DTN\IQFeed\IQConnectLog.txt
3) Screenshots with a detailed description
4) (if possible) The workspaces you are using to reproduce the issue.

We will do our best to help you.

IQ Feed and TS Charts have stopped again today and I have missed signals that should have been sent last night!

Using MC 7.0 Beta 4 (Build 4344)
Using IQFeed 4.7.0.9

I have not downloaded the latest version - has something been fixed in the latest version to address the issue?

For 1 a) I cant find that path

1 b) the file is very large to send on - can you give me an email adress to send it to?

2) Again can send on in an email

Here is an example of a EURUSD Chart that showed data up to the 4th of October, then I had to hit CTRL+R to get data to the 5th but there is no data for the 6th?

Hello MefTrader.
Please describe your issue.
Do you receive a message that the process is running out of memory?
Has the tsserver.exe started to use more memory than it used in the previous version of MultiCharts?
Have you increased the amount of workspaces or charts in use?

We have implemented an updater to fix IQfeed dropping data issue.
Please close Multicharts and all its windows.
Check that all MC processes are ended in Task manager:
MultiCharts.exe
MessageCenter.exe
QuoteManager.exe
tsServer.exe
PLEditor.exe
StudyServer.exe
TradingServer.exe
atCenterServer.exe
TPserver.exe
Fixserver.exe
Rename the attached file from .txt into .zip.
Unzip the archive. Then run the Updater.exe and click on Update.
Please let me know if this solution helped you or not.

Am Using 7.1 Beta 1 (Build 4695)

plus the patch you gave me to improve IQ Feed before.

Are you saying that version 7.2 has more improvements for IQ Feed?
