barchart.com feed problem

Postby rokanten » 08 Dec 2011

Hi.

i did the deal from this page.
https://www.barchart.com/register/realt ... .php?ID=MC
(100 symbols for $49/mo)

and have gone to QM -> data sources -> barcharts.com
and wrote down my ID and password.

and typed "bc:esz11" on command line.
then esz11 is automatically added to my QM.
problem is that i can't get data from it.
and other symbols like b6 and a6 or anything else
doesn't work out either.

i purchased only delayed data. not RT.

can somebody help me out here?
there's even no manual about barchart.com feed :(

i sent the same e-mail above, to barcharts.com
and received this.

Mr. Lyu,

Use only one character for the year, instead of 11 use 1.
Also, make sure you are connected to the server. You may need to
contact Multicharts support to instruct you on how to plug in the Barchart
Data feed.
You do not need realtime data to get historical data unless you are
looking at tick, range, or volume charts.

Regards,

with esz1 instead of esz11, and gcg2 instead of gcg12,
symbol's are added nicely with proper settings.
but still no data coming in.

esz1 symbol got added automatically with proper settings.

In File->Preferences->Data server mode->make sure you are in "online mode" and "download missing historical data" option is enabled.

wondering if you could help me more about..

1. can i save the data from barchart.com as csv or txt or QMD file?
2. if i type @esz1 then i get continuous data.
how is this made? difference adjusted? or not?

thanks again Henry.

1) You can export the chart data in MultiCharts File->Export data.
or all database data in Quote manager->Right click on the symbol->Export data->ASCII or QMD.
2) Adjustment is performed by datafeed on their end.
MultiCharts gets the data as provided by the datafeed.
